Shepherdstown and Jefferson County West Virginia are filled with outdoor recreation opportunities. As you approach the area you may be surprised to see the amount of visitors and locals running, cycling, kayaking and canoeing. Recreation is so prevalent in our area that many have dubbed Shepherdstown the "Boulder Colorado of the East Coast". The Inn is located just across the bridge from the C&O Canal Towpath which offers several hundred mile bike trail from Washington DC to Pittsburgh. Many guests stay with us each summer as they make the complete ride from city to city. However a complete through ride is not required, it's the perfect spot for an afternoon ride, walk or run. There are also many hiking opportunities locally including the Appalachian Trail that is only 10 minutes from the Inn.
